Churches all across America are taking unprecedented measures to help contain the spread of the coronavirus known as COVID-19.  Blacksburg United Methodist Church is no exception!

Our Church Council approved a 5-point plan help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the New River Valley, while continuing our mission of loving God by serving others.

Following is a summary of our plan

Willing to pick up food or prescriptions for someone who can’t get out? Want to volunteer to assist with Montgomery County Public Schools meal delivery program?  Etc.

We have established a collection point at the church for those of you who would like to assist our emergency responders and healthcare workers in our area. Let's make face masks! Please go to the following website for the pattern and directions: https://amp.courierpress.com/amp/2865273001 or

Can't sew?? That's okay!

Do you have any material laying around that could be used for this project?  Or elastic that could be repurposed?

Our sewers could use your help with this!

MaryAnn Cass is the point of contact for ensuring the masks are delivered to the appropriate people at the appropriate time.

If you do not feel comfortable taking your donations of face masks to the church, call MaryAnn at 540-961-5433 and she will be happy to pick them up from you.
