Churches all across America are taking unprecedented measures to help contain the spread of the coronavirus known as COVID-19.

Blacksburg United Methodist Church is no exception!

Our Healthy Church Team (HCT) continues meeting to monitor the requirements of the Virginia Conference UMC, the guidance of our elected officials, and advice from health experts in order to determine when and how we will begin offering opportunities for in-person worship and other church functions.

Home to Stay
The focus of our 2020 Church Street Christmas offering is called "Home to Stay."

Already in our community, we are seeing a growing need for people who need assistance in order to stay in their homes. We want to position ourselves to help the people in our community that have the highest barriers to renting, buying, and have higher levels of need.

If you feel led to donate, you can mark your checks payable to "Blacksburg UMC" and denote "Home to Stay" in the memo line
Make a Mask/Take a Mask
We have established a collection point, accessible Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm, at the church for those of you who would like to assist in making face masks to donate to whoever may need one.

If you do not feel comfortable taking your donations of face masks to the church, call MaryAnn at 540-961-5433 and she will be happy to pick them up from you.

Contact if interested
Since we can't get together to make our kits or spend time in stores shopping for the designated items, the Church Council approved the church-wide donation of financial gifts to UMCOR.
The amount for the health kit would be $14

**Financial donations can be designated to hurricane and disaster relief made payable to BUMC with "UMCOR Donation" noted in the memo line. If you would like your donation to go towards the "UMCOR- School Kits," please note that in the
memo line as well.
