Contemplative Prayer Practice
What is Contemplative Prayer Pratice?
Contemplation, at its core, is the practice of being aware of God, working towards cooperating with God, and doing the work God has planned for each of us. Over the next year, BUMC and Edges plan to introduce Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina and the Examen practices in a small group setting.
At the heart of life is our longing for God. Centering Prayer connects this desire to a practice rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition. Leaning on the wisdom of Thomas Keating's Open Mind, Open Heart(optional reading) and other teachers, Elizabeth Sorenson will facilitate a small group experience over the course of six week this fall through zoom.
