Weekly Studies

Perhaps it would be more appropriate to title this section Weekly Bible Studies, but not all offerings at Blacksburg United Methodist Church (BUMC) may be studying specific books of the Bible.  On the other hand, the Bible will often be used in supporting any study the church offers.

Sunday School classes are obviously one way to grow in our faith and become better disciples of Christ (a list of available classes for adults and children can be found under the index to the left of this page).

However, there are many other opportunities available to help us move forward on our journey of faith.  There are groups that study specific books of the Bible, today’s issues, scripture and literature with a Christian perspective, and other topics.  There are some “regular” groups that meet to study such topics at specific times each week, and there are studies that are scheduled during the Christian year.  In the latter category, there are the Disciple Bible Study opportunities that might go anywhere from 6-8 weeks to a 32 week comprehensive study of Biblical text.

Check the church bulletin and this web site for the announcement of studies, or contact the church office if you need additional information.  You may also check the church calendar for studies that are held and sponsored by BUMC and/or BUMC members.
